Hi
im thinking about changing the shocks on our 120 to some heavy duty ones. what does heavy duty specifically mean? does it mean firmer compression and quicker rebound? or does it mean firmer compression whilst the rebound is kept the same when compared to oem.

Compression and rebound really need to be matched to spring rate as I suspect you already know if you are talking about them .
"Heavy Duty" is such a vague term that it is over used by many manufacturers... it could mean thicker piston rod , it could mean bigger body with more capacity to help with over heating on corrugations, could be just a sales pitch ....
I suggest you pick a manufacturer who are known for suspension.... Koni , Bilstein , OME etc and get hold of their tech department .... they should be able to tell you the exact rates and also advise on what you require..... avoid unknown brand shocks advertised cheaply as "heavy duty" but again pretty sure you already know that ;-)

Have seen a 3inch lift kit with internal bypass shocks that have two way adjustment. How much do these normally go far? Just a ball park figure.
