Hello All,
Many thanks to Julian for all the work
Help required with a diesel injector pump for 1992 80 series I-HDT auto with 91,000 miles. Leaking about 2 years ago and rebuilt via back door at professional pump specialists. Fine till April this year, then leak past main shaft again - but professional fixer now retired. Workmates honoured job and rebuilt it again - 3 hrs on workbench pressure testing etc - fine till now but leak back again - something about back pressure and a worn shaft and will not honour fix again. But would this not have shown up on testing? Local family garage - excellent mechanics - takes out pump, but only has two bays and LC ties up too much space. However, so-called specialist now offering to take out pump at cost of 200, fix at 250 (not including parts!) and reinstall - although they have had 2 chances already! Not inspiring confidence.
Does anyone know of anywhere to buy a new pump outright or get reconditioned one sent up to minimise downtime then send back my old pump. Should I try a breakers yard? If so, any pointers to good ones. Would regret having to go to full on Toyota prices.
Aside: Good supplier of ACL Big End Bearings (Standard size =3D toy size 4)
Cylinder Head Express, 427 Drumoyne Road, Govan, Glasgow 0141 339 8685 - ask for Derek
found through Engine Parts Uk Ltd, Essex (listed on internet under ACL bearings but they are only a distributor)
Good supplier who exports from Australia: the4wdshop on aussie ebay
also known as Steve 'Hobzee' Hobbs, 1300 Frankston-Flinders Rd, Somerville, Victoria 3912, Australia

Back to pump - car running perfect just leaking at shaft - but don't want to give wife a reason to force me to change it!
