How hard do you have to whack it..?
The one 'single' loving owner before I got my hands on l'beast never got
around to making it work - he kept saying he'd replaced all the 'unit'
(haven't the foggiest as to what the man meant) and had it back to the
garage on at least two separate occasions.I tend not to trust people who say
that.
I really needed it once in the desert - guess who had to be pulled out by a
- landy! - of all the vehicles you could possibly have in the desert.would
have been better if I'd had a Unimog to do the job! (would have been much
better also, in keeping with the 'style' of l'beast.)

Subject: RE: [ELCO] Difflock actuator
this isn't me being funny, but get under there and smack it with a rubber
hammer a couple of times- it often shocks the actuator into working, and
once it has worked a few times then you don't tend to have any problems.

Subject: [ELCO] Difflock actuator
I completely forgot about this. I need to free up the non working rear
actuator.
Can anyone who's done this give me any tips? The FSM says to jack up the
rear and engage the lock before stripping it; obviously mine is not engaging
anyway so I can't do this but should I switch on the locker anyway before
stripping it?
Any hints, tips or tricks for the spannerly challenged and cack-handed would
be useful.
Thanks
Pete
