digest

Hi Julian
Of late the digest has become almost unreadable due to all the code
appearing at the end of messages. I know I don't contribute very often, but
I read with interest each evening, and learn. But it's getting more
difficult. Do posters not understand how to cut out the excess stuff?
Maybe you should post the digest to everyone so that they can see what's
happening.

We do try John but you are right sometimes we do forget.
Julian might well explain in more detail but I think the code you refer to
is the result of people posting in HTML rather than Plain Text. HTML allows
fancy fonts, colours, underlined text and formatting but that does not
translate into the digest mode.
Posting in HTML is easy, when you read the digest you might notice that you
have fallen into the trap yourself, something else to watch out is replying
to other people HTML posts without changing to Plain Text.

Hi John,
Sorry you are still having problems, this is a regular issue.
The key things is that people need to trim their replies as well as
only post to the list in text format, Not html.
There is info on the site at
http://www.landcruisers.info/lists/list_rules.html with examples of the
issues and the problems they cause, but few people seem to be bothered
to read them.
I do have a solution in the pipeline, but it has been delayed due to
more important projects, hopefully I can find some time over Xmas to
work on it.
