Guys
Just a query (bet you're getting pretty fed up with me...)
The following scenario:
Setting out for work first thing in the morning (before dawn) -
Oil changed recently and new oil filter. Emissions. It only does this
first thing in the morning, is this basic exhaust gases/condensation as
it warms up after a cold night, or something potentially more dangerous?
No real colour that I can make out, its only for a few minutes from when
the engine is cold, okay when engine is warm - should I be worried?
You'll probably all say in unison "give it a rest, woman!"
But would like seriously, an idea of whether its faulty
injector/pump,t/charger failing, worn valves, worn pistons, head gasket
leak, other seal failures, these kinds of things.

Look here - first thing in the - pre dawn - cold morning do you spring
out of bed bright eyed and bushy tailed at 100 mph. No, you need to
warm up a bit first like the rest of us - especially those the wrong
side of 40. Your engine is just the same, its getting up to its
operating temperture - the various clearances between mating parts are
larger when cold and will reduce when warm. Hence the smoke reduces /
stops when warm. So stop fretting !!!

Hi Renate,
Don't forget one thing. It's a Toyota. The firm I work for has tried
every brand of vehicles for delivery purposes.
We now ONLY buy Toyota's. The first vehicle we bought, when we setup
business 16 years ago.
Was a "B" reg (1985) Hilux. We still have that vehicle in daily use.

Major components replaced !!. And this is a petrol vehicle, not a diesel
!!
