EML coming on when coasting

Only had my cruiser in the road a few weeks ..

And I've noticed if I'm coasting downhill every now and Again my engine management light comes on briefly . It then goes off once I pick up the throttle .

Now it doesn't do it every time .
And seems to be more likely to do it if I've turned off the over drive .

When it did it yesterday I put the throttle on and I had no power at all for about 10 seconds

Does anyone have any clue where to start .

Am I looking at a big issue starting

Reading the fault codes would be a good start.does this model have a 1KZ TE engine?

I don't think it has obd2 plug .

If it's a 1KZ TE it's got the plug. The codes can be read by shorting two of the terminals on the plug with the ignition on & counting the flashes , then reading off the tables. All this is described in the Max Ellery manual but I think you can probably buy a data link cable & the software of eBay.IIRC someone mentioned this in a recent thread . Anyone?
