Engine Conversions - Best diesel motor for conversion (fj62)

Hi guys,

I currently own a '85 Fj62 land cruiser. It currently has a factory 3F motor. Id like to do a diesel engine conversion with it.
The engines i am considering is the 1VD-FTV v8 diesel motor. Would that motor fit into
the fj62? Or should i consider something like the 1HDT motor? Just contemplating about what diesel
motor would be best for a conversion. Thank you.

The 1vd-ftv would involve a bit of a mare with wiring and immobiliser.

I would go 1hdt with the bell housing off a hzj 70 series.. Good to rebuild the h55 transmission if you have manual transmission.

The fj62 has an auto transmission, any suggestions with that box? I'd like to keep it auto if possible.
I sort of figured the wiring with 1vd-ftv would be quite an issue.
Leaning towards the 1hdt-fte, with the electronic injection.
