EU MEDDLING - AGAIN

Howaya

Was over in Frogs Island on Saturday.

The yard was full of LC's pimped up in all manner of shapes, sizes and every kind of gadget imaginable.

Interestingly there was a brand new LC 105 (i think). A non-turbo 80 apparently - savage looking machine!

Also Ewan McGregor and some other lad had 2 brand new Patrols getting fitted out five star Hollywood style for a trip from St John of Groats ( Goats?) in Scotland to Cape Town. Sponsored by Nissan me thinks.... Showers, 4 poster beds, million gallon fuel tanks, on board make-up facilities the works!

Anyway I was looking for a set of rock slider attachments for the ARB bullbar I got last year - none to be had due to new EU regulations ARB are no longer exporting to EU. It will soon be illegal to have anything on the front of a vehicle (under 4 years old (i think)) that weighs over 30KG??

So those with older LC's will be OK but if you have an old LC and want to stick a girder on the front be warned - they'll be hard to come by.

Anyway - looking forward to getting the LC back in a few weeks with new BeB's, Timing belt, injectors & pump overhauled bt the lads in Swindon, valve clearance adjusted, and 170ltr aux fuel tank.

As for the rock sliders - going to get a mate in Australia to get me a set and post them over...

Cheers

Niall,
You may want to hold fire on the rock sliders as it looks like there will be
some UK built sliders for 80 series available soon, I understand they should
be under =A3400 a set. I'll let you know when I find out more.
They won't link up to the bull bar like the ARB ones, but are likely to be
significantly stronger.

I know the feeling driving a tin can when all your height and protection seems gone but you will survive for the few weeks.
Maybe you will like your new drive and get buy one and attach a big bore exhaust and then you will have loads of power like all the boy racers.
Mine is going off to another injector pump guy today after it would appear the first guy gave up, so ill also be without cruiser for a while aswell.
