In our back seat area we're constructing buffalo board storage compartments. The lids won't be hinged. The lids also won't overlap like a box lid but will be flush instead. I thought I'd take a look at available fasteners to lock the lids for security and I've been blown away by the styles of fasteners: anything from a latch through to this http://www.oemhardwaregroup.com/rotary-locks-strikes/no-9600u-rotary-paddle-latch .
Companies I'm looking at include: Stedall, WDS Ltd, Southco - Roy Hopwood Fasteners. But for the life of me I can't work out which would work best and also which would be smartest [e.g. harder to get into].
I'm open to any suggestions on what style is best for a flat lid - appreciate a theif could take an axe to the buffalo board.
Separately I found some bonding fasteners that may be of interest.
