The MANN oil filters filters - I am told - have the same integral by-pass
filter as well as full-flow filter as OEM. I have used these for several years.
Don't forget that Toy once changed the sizing of their filters to something
possibly half the size of the originals. I think the justification was to
reduce oil starvation on start-up. So comparison is not that easy, pattern
filters makers may not have picked that one up. Don't forget, JB's article
on filters he posted a couple of months ago was quite illuminating as a
reference for us all.
I am sticking with MANN.
Cheers

John, do you have a part no. for the MANN filters please, and what do you pay.
OE Toyota oil filter is about =A316, mind you it is a while since I bought one. I tend to bulk buy these type of consumables.

Hi Gareth
I saw Jons post and unless I am in worst condition mentally than what I
thought which could be a possibillity. I do not remember anything about Mann
filters let alone me posting a good post on filters, that surly is not
possible. Unless there is another JB on the list, now that would make sense.
For the life of me a cannot remember me doing anything that would be
concidered a good post especially in Jon's league. Im at the bottom of the
pile of people who know things but on an ever increasing upward theme. Come
on I will be waiting for Julian or one of you to say yes you did John now
cop on. That will be OK because the big gray building with all the nice
doctors and big big male hairy nurses is not too far away so will be easy
to drop in but harder to get out of. I think that the oil filters Toyota are
16 euro each, I will check this this morning as I need one to service the
cruiser before I go to France next week yaheeee.

John B, relax you are not loosing your marbles !! The post was intended
for our good friend John of Tring & Bosnia.
Don't give us any nonsense about not being able to send in a good post.
You have said plenty of sensible things in the past and will do so again
in the future.
Regards Gareth Jones.

Hi Gareth,
But Gareth, Jon C-W *IS* John of Tring & Bosnia.
So confusion continues to reign ;-)
We will have to wait for Jon to pickup the digest tonight to sort it out
for us

Hi Gareth
As I said I would here ids the price of the genuine Toyota oil filter here
18 euro and I can a spurious one in the motor factors for 8.50 euro each.
Personally I keep getting the Toyota ones, makes me feel safe about the
filtering.
