Karl has sourced an intercooler off a prado for me to fit to my colorado. I was just wondering if I should have it pressure tested before I fit it? What would happen if I fit it and it does have a leak? This is not a water cooler, it just uses air.

If you have a leak in any of the air intake pipes or intercooler post turbo then you will have a greater pressure drop then without any leaks resulting in a reduction of power. On my mk3 golf tdi I had this issue and it kept going into limp home mode. Was told it stops the turbo from overheating but I cant think of a reason why it would damage the turbo...
