Hi guys
I remember reading in a recent post not to put synthetic ATF in the auto
box. Could someone please explain as i've ordered some from Amsoil and
its a wee bit too expensive to throw away.
Has anybody any recommendations for brake fluid (before I order it this
time).
I'm about to start changing all the fluids in the truck as I doubt
whether its ever been done and its coming up to 110K miles.
Cheers

Hi Roderick,
My HDJ80 has Amsoil (17 liters of it) in the auto and the auto runs very
cold only about 50 degrees C at 100km/h with big twin plate and fin
tranny coolers. Rodney from wholesale automatics in australia likes
synthetic ATF.

Hi Craig
Thats an awful lot of fluid no wonder it runs so cool. Mine holds 10
litres of fluid but I can only get 2 litres out by draining it. Perhaps
someone can tell me how to get the other 8 litres out! because I don't
want to mix the Amsoil with the old fluid.
Looks like you like you've a lot of gear on your truck. NZ must be a
good place for off-roading.
