Hi guys,
I am no expert in grand theft auto, but methinks it must have been a
bit more sophisticated than a space blanket. The sensors fitted to the
car register a great deal of events and relay this info to the control
centre. These guys may have obtained the transmission code and
intercepted the comms channel. With 1m euro at stake, they evidently
were able to do a bit of social engineering to buy the necessary
information. And Russians being Russians, for a few thousand euros or
even a crate of vodka they may have also been able to have a comms
satellite reprogramed for a day.
