'For Your Viewing Pleasure' -- Suggestions for Hidden YouTube Gems?

Recently while watching one of his videos, I thought of sending email to him but found he passed away.

Really? I didn't know - where did you see that? His videos were a bit too shouty for me, but as he had been around the block he often had some good insights.

Sorry I read somewhere he is no more but wrong news. Looks like wrong one. He is very much alive

Has Scotty Kilmer Passed Away?

In March 2019, Scotty posted a video titled “The Most Important Person in Car Repair History Just Passed Away”.

Ah, I think that was the Haynes guy he was on about? Glad Scotty's still alive!

We've been watching the 4WD 24/7 guys on and off for the last couple of months - tripped over them by accident - great videos and as someone said above, they seem like a good bunch to hang out with. Reminds me a lot of previous overland trips I've done with a gang of mates (and makes me keen to get back into this stuff, now the kids are older!). :)

If anyone here is a Windows application developer and used computers in the 90s (I am and started my career in development in 1997) then you will love this guy

Photonicinduction (electronics),
Mike's electric stuff (electronics),
Harry's Garage (cars)
Harry's Farm (farming) are some of my favorites.

I also like Jago Hazzard (London history) and Big Clive (electronics).

Not long come across Retropower Uncut only seen a few episodes but what got my interest was episode 42 doing up a 40 series and looks like handmade rear floor section a wide bodied moggy with stupid horsepower and with some real dark porn exhaust headers reckon when I win the lottery they can do the work for me even down to changing the air in the tyres

I was looking for a Landcruiser movie n found this song on Landcruiser

I like that @Raj revives this thread every now and then. Gives me the opportunity to add any new ones I've stumbled across in the meantime:

https://www.youtube.com/c/Advoko : Advoko Makes --If you're into the great outdoors and brilliant fabrication, check this guy out. He's a bloke from St. Petersburg in Russia [seem to remember reading somewhere he's a lawyer] who has built himself a log cabin in the wilderness. Not content with just building the cabin, he makes a lot of his own tools, invents gadgets and also built a water wheel to generate power and drive stuff he makes. Amazingly resourceful and talented guy.

https://www.youtube.com/user/mustie1 : Mustie1 --Another of those "will it run" type channels. He tinkers with a variety of things, but much of what he does is try and coax back to life old VW Beetles and Vans, which he generally rescues from swamps and buried in undergrowth. As an ex-owner of several old VW vans myself [and my first ever motor was a rusty old Beetle] I like watching him pull apart old VW engines which, a lot of the time look like lumps of rust, and try and get them to spin up. The fact he laughs like a loon every time something blows up or falls apart is quite endearing too... for someone like me who, in similar circumstances, favours swearing at and threatening my motors with, the breaker's yard

Ha! Ha! Looks like I'm not the only one, initially confused by his South African accent.

I put on one of his vids to watch tonight and put it on mute with the auto-generated subtitles, as the missus was doing some revision....

I opened his encyclopedia and this week only I completed his 6 parts of something like 'Lions, Land Cruisers and caravans'

I was looking at some pics of landcruisers on American forum. There were lot of stock looking armoured type land cruiser pics so searched google but didnt find any. Those might be their own photos in action. looked on you tube and found this interesting.

For old Landcruisers that never get old.

For The 80 Series. This one looks like the UK one. Its so good, I wonder why I didnt knew about it.

Short clips cut from YouTube for my expt editing but they r good on their own.
