Julian the tank outlet gear and fuel gauge sender are in one unit
accessible from under the rear seat cushion. You first remove a plate in
the floor. From what I remember its also the same for my sub tank with a
plate on the cargo floor but not had that carpet up for a while -
thankfully. Its not a big deal to check it out.
Anthony and auto boxes, first apologies to all for an early Saturday
morning typo erratum in the last line, I meant manuals are cheaper on
fuel, but we all know that.
I will not argue with you or Renate, its horses for courses. If I had a
choice of transmission I would put low ratio as first requirement and
part-time 4WD as second (especially travelling on dry rocky roads as I do
in summer), choice of gearbox last. But come out here and go along a track
with a sheer 500ft drop on one side, then manoeuvre/shunt round a hairpin
or two and you would like to be fully in control of what goes on between
engine and wheels. Its a common discussion down at my over 50's zimmer
frame and snowboard club anyway. Let us not perpetuate a common debate on
the list - put it down to my age!
Cheers
