Julian the tank outlet gear and fuel gauge sender are in one unit
accessible from under the rear seat cushion. You first remove a plate in
the floor. From what I remember its also the same for my sub tank with a
plate on the cargo floor but not had that carpet up for a while -
thankfully. Its not a big deal to check it out.
Anthony and auto boxes, first apologies to all for an early Saturday
morning typo erratum in the last line, I meant manuals are cheaper on
fuel, but we all know that.
I will not argue with you or Renate, its horses for courses. If I had a
choice of transmission I would put low ratio as first requirement and
part-time 4WD as second (especially travelling on dry rocky roads as I do
in summer), choice of gearbox last. But come out here and go along a track
with a sheer 500ft drop on one side, then manoeuvre/shunt round a hairpin
or two and you would like to be fully in control of what goes on between
engine and wheels. Its a common discussion down at my over 50's zimmer
frame and snowboard club anyway. Let us not perpetuate a common debate on
the list - put it down to my age!
Cheers

Jon,
Apologies are not necessary, you stated an opinion and that it good, others
may just disagree and that is OK too. I think that debate is healthy and
generally we all can learn tings from it as long as it remains impersonal.
I prefer full time transfer boxes and after sampling this one I now prefer
them to have a viscose coupling because there are many advantages over one
with out the viscous coupling it is a good half way house to locking the CDL
you no not tend to get any front under steer compared to being locked and
yet affords more traction than having an open diff. The viscous equipped
vehicle that I have to me feels so much more stable on the road as well
compared to others that I have driven.
Age well what of it, it is something hopefully we all will attain eventually
I do not suppose that I am that far behind you it is only a measure of how
many times the Earth has circled the Sun.
It sounds as though you have a wonderful life in Bosnia, with all that
fantastic terrain and good company. Perhaps you could tell us more about
it?
Anthony
