A while ago I asked about the fuel tank breathers - I eventually found it, it runs from above the back of the tank to a small filter on the underside of the body with a further pipe running from the filter into the cross member behind the tank.
It appears that muddy/silty water can build up in the crossmember, blocking the breather quite effectively.
Next time you are under your LC it is worth checking this even if you don't go off road because the water from puddles can get up there.
I'm going to see about replacing the filter and extending the filter this weekend - I'll let you know how I get on.
