Hi

Recently bought a Aus spec 200 series and found a small device in the engine compartment on the right side with 2 lights continually blinking. It has some writing on it "complies with Australian standards" AS/NZS 4251-1...

Can anyone shed some light what this item actually does or what purpose is it for..?

Have a attached a pic.

If you're in .ZM disconnect it cause you're not in au nz..

On the joking side if you are in au nz and you disconnect it:angry-nono:, then the unit will blow up! Lol

Looks like some kind of inverter/dropper.
What’s it connected to?

You’re not getting a lot of help are you T. Let us have a bit more of a wider photo which might help. Some idea where the wires go might also help.
Could be anything really. 24v to 12v converter fitted in error, inverter? Control for strobes? Without knowing what else you’ve got fitted to your vehicle it’s a bit of a guessing game. Trailer braking controller perhaps? Try unscrewing it from the Body and see if it has any markings on the back.

The AS Standard number isn’t much use to you, that seems to only deal with electromagnetic emissions and interference, so it could be almost anything from an aftermarket alarm system to some sort of voltage control unit.

Welcome aboard Tiago, BTW

Follow the wiring , is it connected to the chassis ? its a long shot but i'm wondering if its one of those electronic rust prevention anode thingies ?
