Hi All
I am new to forums and Cruiser ownership generally but am slowly finding my way (with a lot of help from the information and conversations on these boards).
In January we purchased a 2005 LC5 with 60,000 miles on the clock. Having lived in the UK for 3 years it is just about time to return home to Oz and, rather than taking the conventional Qantas flight home we are planning an overland trip from London to Melbourne in April/May 2013 and taking about 10 months to complete and passing through Belarus, Latvia, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgystan, China, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and then over to Darwin and down to Melbourne.
We have tried to keep any "vehicle preparation" efforts to a minimum but have taken up some luxuries like a 45ltr drinking water tank, fridge, auto battery charging relay, swing away wheel carrier.....but not too much else. Hopefully we can stop spending now but need to accrue tools and spares - would be interested to hear what tools and spares (other than filters) people consider would be necessary (planning to keep it to as minimal as possible) and what the best "idiot's guide to 120 series repairs" is.
Thanks for all your help so far!
Leigh
