Hi
Thanks to the LC owner who mentioned Rodney at Automatic Transmissions.
I had a look at his website, then out of curiosity I e-mailed him...
regarding improvements to the A442F gearbox.
Here is his reply:
All you need is I would just add the Heavy Duty Extreme Valve Body a
and this will make all the difference in the world. The valve body is
$795 Aus change over plus $152 Aus freight via TNT Air Express (3-4
days).
http://www.automatictransmission.com.au/release.asp?NewsId=4651
Options:
Complete Temp gauge Kit $245 Aus
http://www.automatictransmission.com.au/release.asp?NewsId=12031
Lock-Up manual Control Kit $195 Aus
http://www.automatictransmission.com.au/release.asp?NewsId=12101
The valve body is sold on a change over basis and you will need to
return your old unit at you own cost back to Australia within 28 days
of delivery. There is a $450 Aus deposit until your old valve body is
returned.
Some nice pieces of kit, especially if you tow or do serious
descending. My interest arose as I have had to use the brakes rather
than the engine braking effect on a few occasions. Also useful on long
climbs such as Ethiopian highlands and the climb up the base of Mount
Kenya.
Any comments appreciated
Cheers
