Hi - I'm planning on replacing the injectors on my 2003 1KD Prado.

What type of establishment would you guys recommend for getting them done? Would you take them to a Toyota dealership, or to an independent Diesel specialist?

I'd be willing to travel if anyone can recommend somewhere that's done a good job for them previously.

It's going to be an expensive job, so I just want to make sure I take it to somebody that knows what they're doing.

Thanks in advance :)

It's doable as a DIY job if you are confident with spanners, but you will need Techstream to code in the new injectors.

A good indi should be able to do it for you, or depending where you are located @Trevor from Freedom4x4 may be able to help.

Most of the cost is in the injectors, many like myself use reconditioned ones, and these can be had for around £100 each. If you go Toyota original, best you have a spare kidney

Unfortunately it's not something I'd want to tackle myself. I'll do brakes, bearings, stuff like that, but I don't trust myself with something so pricey! haha

Just looked up Freedom 4x4 and it appears they're in Northamptonshire .... I live in Northampton ... absolutely perfect!! Will drop them a line.

Cheers

Never heard of them. Sound like complete rogues to me :laughing-rolling:
