getting stuck & snow / ice tyres

Dear Lubo,
What would be a good tyre for driving on Scandinavian roads? I was in Sweden
this week and could well be going back next winter with a Landcruiser for
several weeks. Is there a good stud tyre in a size suitable for a standard
16 inch Landcruiser wheel?
Regards

Dear Neill
Here is some test for 4X4 from the norwegian Automobile association
which I was so 'lucky' to get after I bought my set of tires
Here we have 2 categories:'pig' and 'pig-free'.
Of course the best result were tires with pigs:
1-Continental Conti4X4 Ice Contact---8.7 points -Tcheckia
1-Pirelli Scorpion carvine 8.5--England
3-Nokian Hakkapellitta Sport Utility 8.3--Finland
4-Goodyear Ultra grip500 7.9--Germany
and pig-free:
1-Pirelli Scorpion Ice&Snow 7.6 England
2-Bridgestone Blizzak LM-18 7.5 Japan
3-Hankook Icebear W300 7.4 Korea
4-Nokian WR 7.0 Finland
5-Cooper discoverer sport 5.4 USA------those
are mine :-((((((((((((((((((
otherwise the best are 'Continental' but they were not imported to
Norway in our size so you should look for them in Germany
Hope that will help
Cheers

Thanks, Lubo,
Do you fit the same size snow tyre are you run normally, or do you go for a
narrower size?

Mine are just 'normal' all seasons tires-that's why they were so bad
for 'winter'test 265/75 R16
