VERY late to the party here! I used to have years ago - lovely kit.
Here is a boyscout trick.... when cooking on wood fires, we used to smear fairy liquid over the bases of pans which would quickly get blackened by woodsmoke.
Each time they were used, we cleaned the insides but tried not to disturb the blackened outside. At the end of camp the exterior got a good cleaning and most of the black just wiped off with warm water!
