Glow Plugs will not 'click' off and instead stay on while vehicle is running.

Hi,
As in a previous thread I have replaced the glow plug relay in a HZJ75 landcruiser to solve the problem of the glow plugs constantly being on (even with the key off). After replacing the glow plug relay they now come on when they are supposed Ie when you turn the key to glow setting but do not click off after the 15 or so seconds of glow and instead remain on until you turn off the engine and completely turn off the key.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated,

For some reason the low tension feed is staying live and not timing out, haven't a clue why but easy enough to make the plugs manual operation only even if for temporary.
Fit a switch into the low tension side of the relay from a suitable live feed so you can control the glow plugs from inside the cab.
This used to be the normal way of triggering glow plugs in times gone by (something else that wasn't broke but they fixed it anyway), it was often a push switch on the dash so you'd get in turn the ignition on and press the glow plug switch for 10 or however many seconds it needs, then crank the engine whilst keeping the switch depressed, once running well release switch.

Glow plug timer ?
On my lj78 there is a glow plug timer, located above the glove box, which needs removing to get at it.

Yes was thinking about bypassing the timer and putting in a switch but am going to try and keep it as the factory setup and use the switch as a last resort. Thanks for the idea though. Have done alot of trouble shooting and Its all kind of point towards the glow plug timer which I did fine under the under the glovebox and maybe that is the issue... Looked at Glow plug timer for HZJ75 and Almost $250 AUD!!! Thanks for all the info
