Hello guys
this is 09/00 model LC 100-what do you think?is it worth?

Hi Lubo,
I assume that is Euros = about ?13,000
As you would expect.
This would worry me a bit. I can understand changing the cam belt (which I
assume is the engine belt) but not the Turbo and half engine - is that what we
refer to as a short block - the main bits of the engine, the block, crank
shaft, pistons, etc - I would want to know why this work was done - shouldn't
be necessary.
Having said that if it has full Toyota service history perhaps they have been
over cautious - if they have replaced the main block and turbo the engine
should be good for a couple 100,000 miles more
What needs doing on the front suspension - is it the Automatic Height Control
shock absorbers that need replacing (might not be that cheap) or does more
need to be done?
Overall it sounds tempting, but I would want to know a bit more info first
before committing.

Hi Lubo,
OK, run the main description through a translator.
Looks like it has had the cam belt changed, no problem there, although
it has had a new turbo and a new cylinder head - I would want to know
why.
Also it has built in bluetooth hands free for your mobile and I think
also a SatNav system as well as the engine has been chipped providing
+20bhp.
The price is 22900 Euro, which is around ?15,500 GBP - for that money I
could pick up a 2001 model with the same spec BUT less than half the
mileage (seen an advert for a local one with 68,000miles at that
price).
Having said that I know we are cheaper here than most of Europe so it
may well be pretty reasonable.

Lubo,
All in all it sounds good.
How much will that be imported to Norw?
Some points I noted:
- Being 99/00 it will have a 2-pinion front diff. They changed to
4-pinion in 2000. See copy of TSB below. But note that most 2-pinion
diffs give no problem. Only in severe, marginal situations. (E.g. pulling
a tractor out of the mud in reverse)
- When were the 4 gas spheres changed?
- The chip giving 10-20 % more power & torq also means 10-20 % more wear
on some components, potentially.
- It has a sub-fuel-tank of 50 litres (that's the capacity of the OEM
sub-fuel)
- Becker makes some of the best radios you can get.
- The "Damage Multiplier" up front has to go...
- The Nav is ugly. An integrated, double-DIN or flip open would look
better. (But then the Becker would have to go)
- Is it really rust free? That's a great plus.
- Is it 5 or 7 seat? (Does it matter?)
Copied from TSB:
Model Name : LAND CRUISER
Model Code : UZJ100, HDJ100
Subject : Change of Front Differential on Land Cruiser.
To provide high level of strength of the front differential, 4-pinion type
differential has been adopted on the production line.
Production Effective :
UZJ100 - Frame No: 5003980
Production Date: August 1999
HDJ100 - Frame No: 8011850
Production Date: August 1999
