HDJ80 SPEAKERS

Guys
Stereo and speakers being changed out and upgraded this weekend.
Re the 2 speakers at the back tailgate on the 80.
Does anyone know if these are wired in series with the 2 speakers on
the 2 back doors or are they wired seperately from the radio. ie is the
Factory cruiser 4 channel output or 6?
Any insight appreciated.

Don't know the answer 4 or 6 channel, I would guess 4, 6 would be quite
fancy (how would the fader work?)
but sure they are not in series, parallel maybe

Would be a bit fancy alright - dont think surround sound was part of
the Toyo spec back then
I've since found out that you can wire speakers in series but there is
no point. For any given volume level only half the output power will be
developed across each
speaker. So, you will only achieve the same sound level as if you only
had one. Also, wiring speakers in series shags up the sound quality,
(impedance,
frequency, balance).
So parallell it must be... unless Mr Toyo suprises us all with a 6
output stereo..... will let you know when done.
