Just got my precious LC80 HZJ80-1HZ 1997VX. And I really need help to restore my LC80 to the finest. The main issues that I experience is that black smoke coming from my exhaust. What really get my attention is when Im going up hill, I press that accelerator but no power, just black smoke(rolling coal).

Thanks in advance.

No turbo in the HZ so someone has likely turned the fuel up hoping for more power but that only works to a degree beyond which it hinders an efficient burn .

Fuel can't burn without air so change your air filter and turn the fuel down a notch .

Okay, so that mean lot of fuel not get burn well? How about adding turbo? Is it a good solution?

Plenty have done it via very expensive experts who design and build turbo's , but no not a good solution in my view because Toyota makes some very good turbo engines and designed the HZ to be non turbo .
