Hi Benoit
Welcome to the list hope you get the answers you want and deserve.
My steering wheel was wearing out much like the rest of my cruiser and I managed to pick up a slightly padded leather cover and it justs fits over the steering wheel.

Welcome. I was driving my 80 series around Mulhouse last summer, on a trip to the railway museum.
As for that other list: Frenchmen chattering? No, I don't believe you ... ;-}
I'm sorry, I don't have any clever ideas about your steering wheel, and in fact mine is getting a bit tatty too. The site http://www.leathermagicuk.com/ has a repair kit, and I'm sure you would find something similar in France. Maybe someone else on the list would have some ideas.

I would have thought that any vehicle upholsterer should be able to retrim
the steering wheel in new leather? Wouldn=92t have thought it would cost too
much.

Welcome Benoit, glad to have you here.

Hi Beniot,
Welcome aboard.
Just picking up on Chris' comments, the after market car shops and
accessory shops seems to be very thin on the ground in France, and by
all accounts from talking to Lio Hebert very few people actually work
on their own cars.
It amused me in Fes when I helped fix some wiring on a Troupie LC the
look of wonderment from half a dozen French LC owners when they saw my
toolbox - I didn't have anything special with me (most of it could be
picked up from Halfords), but it seems they just can't get the same
variety of tools and so cheaply in France.
As a starting point I pointed them to the Halfords website and the
Sealey one - I got the impression they were going to club together to
make a couple of bulkk orders.

Hi Benoit
welcome to the list:)
I have the same problem with mine and found that these guys http://www.joekers.dk/ had one but they wanted mine in exchange and 2500Dkr.That one was with airbag...
So I never did it but I asked them if I visit their junk yard would they change it for me and it was not a problem at all.So the problem is you have to be without steering wheel for some days if you go that way unless you pay them a visit and the whole job is 1/2 hour(you might be lucky to collect some spear parts there too)
cheers
Lubo
PS the wheel was overhaul in Italy-almost brand new...
