Help- windscreen washer not working - FIXED

Hi all,

My windscreen washer no longer works. When I pull the stalk the wipers come on but no washer fluid comes out.

I've poked a bit of wire down the hole and the reservoir is full.

I've just add another look today and I can't hear the pump. Fuse is fine as it does both wipers and washer has far as I can tell, and the wipers work.

The rear and head light washers work fine and I can clearly hear the pump working when I operate these.

Are there 3 separate pumps or do they work of the same one?

Any advice gratefully received.

Thanks

Not being funny have you got water above the inlet to the pump?

Try pulling the pipes off of each section of the washers and blowing down each bit. You may find the blockage.

The reservoir is full to the brim, so not that.

I can see the pumps from lying under the car, but tricky to reach though. Had another listen from underneath with someone else pulling the stalk. The pump deffinatly isn't working!

Broken pump?
Electrical issue?

I'll try to access the pump and check it's getting power.

Been googling to trying to find out how many pumps are in there, 2 or 3. Tricky to see.

Do the front and rear washer work of the same pump? As the back one is working.

I *think* there are three pumps. One for headlamps. One for rear screen. One for front screen. All clustered around the bottom of the washer bottle.

That would certainly make sense as the other two work.

Thanks.

All fixed :)

Tested the connector which showed 12v when the washer is engaged. Must be the pump.

The Toyota one seemed rather costly!

Ordered one of these from fleabay:

Much much easier to replace than I thought it would be. Start by draining the reservoir.

Remove bottom part of wheel arch lining by removing 2 screws.

Can then access pump. Windscreen is the one at the front.

Remove connector and pipe, any remaining washer fluid will trickle out. Then simply pull the pump out, it's just push fit.

Well they look the same so fingers crossed.

Put new rubber washer in place.

Push in the new pump and reconnect.

Screw lining bit back on. Fill with screen wash.
