Hello,
I have 1984 HJ47 that I imported from Oz a couple of years ago in very original condition - used to be a bush firetruck in NSW and hence has only 30k miles from new.
I am interested in fitting a period suitable winch - does anyone have any suggestions, please?
many thanks Dick W

Welcome...

That's a great looking truck.

With your truck being in such original condition , IMO, it has to be a PTO winch which drives off your transfer box.

However they are as rare as hen's teeth, so you may have spend time searching but, I think somewhere, I have a diagram of all the component parts. If you need it then I will look for said diagram.

Regards,

Rodger

Rodger,
very many thanks for your response and advice.
I was thinking about something like.a PTO system but couldn’t find anyone who knows much about them.
if you do have have a diagram that would be great.

Hi Dick,

I will try to find the diagram over the weekend.
In the meantime I found a couple of photos...

Rodger

Dick,

The winch will fit both as far as I am aware because the take off is driven from the transfer box.

Below are the diagrams
