Recently bought a 4.0 diesel lc thought one day I'd strip out some wiring from the mess 
that is the loom and after spot lights, cb, and stereo etc I can no longer start the truck.
All it does when I turn the key is click and the odd lever mechanism moves on the engine. It doesn't turn the starter motor and doesn't fire when I put a direct positive feed to the starter. There was smoke from the exhaust when I bypassed the starter circuit but it doesn't fire.
Starter motor is good ignition barrel good. Solenoid maybe may have buggered up a connectrion?
I'm off to see if I can find a wiring diagram but if anyone can help I'd be grateful
