Probably a stupid question - but I need to know!

The locking on my car works like this:
Drivers or passengers doors and tailgate open with the key. But neither open all the doors at the same time. The only way to do this is to use the master switch inside. Is this normal? I would like to add a remote fob system that activates all the doors and tailgate to lock or unlock. Has anyone done a similar job?

Thanks, ben

checked out the rear lock and it looks like the electric solenoid for the rear tailgate has failed.
Something else for the wishlist!

That is the way with a 60, only the drivers door master switch activates the central locking. I've never come across a 60 with a fob activated central locking yet but thats not to say one can't be fitted by a specialist.
BTW I've looked for the window relay but both sets of spare doors I've come across are wind up type, that said I'm still on the case and looking.

Thanks for your support Andy. I really want to keep the window wiring standard unless no other option is available.

I also had the same problem. I got to install a 24v truck alarm system with a central lock. I could not get it right and I just kept blowing off the fus on OEM central lock system. I just got the answer while reading your post. When pressing the remote key-less entry, it would only unlock and lock the driver's side door. You have to unlock and lock all doors from the driver's side master switch. This have been my difficult challenge and I will just have to go for this system unless somebody comes up with another fix.

Thats what i am thinking of using, the truck alarm into the master door switch.
The wiring diagrams are very small and difficult to read, but it should work
