HJ60 value

This HJ60 has had about =A33500 spent on body work, new panels cut and welded
in all over, re waxoyl'd inside the panels and re sprayed. Have seen all
the receipts from the bodyshop.
Mine is a 1982, and it is only just starting to show bits of rust in the
last couple of years, and this is in Jersey, so salty moist air. So I would
not have said they were particularly that bad for rust....but only my
experience.

Can anyone give me an idea of the current market value for selling a
1983 HJ60. Got about 90,000 miles on the clock. Good body condition.
No external rust....has been repaired/plated up in places...repairs not
visible, a good job has been made. Interior is good.
Good wheels and tyres.
A mate is selling his here in Jersey, I have the only other one here on
the island.
What would I expect to pay for one in similar condition in UK? and if
he wanted to sell his in UK what do you think he would get....bear in
mind no MOT in Jersey, so MOT required and it would need to be
registered back on UK registration plates?
Cheers
Neil

Neil,
Not much at all in my opinion. That model has a rust reputation
that does the prices no good. Although built like a tank and having a
good lifespan in African countries, the UK is harsh on them. All it
has going for it is clean condition. The last one I know of was given
away, that was needing body work for the MOT though.

I have just looked through the finished auctions on eBay. There were
174 Cruisers and only two of them were 60's, one didn't meet its
reserve and the other went for =3DA3255 as spares.

Neil
What engine has it got?
If I had an old 60 lying about and couldn't get much for it here, i'd
drive it to Libya for Libyan Desert Challenge next March. Then flog it
after and fly home.
10 day rally - open to all. Drive down in 3 days - you'd be home in 2 weeks
