Hi Guys
I have had a busy week but im sad to say im back so if you lot planned a party to celebrate my absence, call it off now the pain in the arse is back to annoy you all.
First of all welcome ( Bonjour et Benvenue Lio) who hails from France, so you will have to tell us where in France you are from as some of us visit France quite often on Holidays.
My computer got sick and needed some time in the repair shop, it crashed and had three viruses which had to be removed. Ah I hear you say but sure thats not too bad, well roll my luck in and then the whole pc had to be reinstalled with windows and bits and bobs. A lot of the programes were infected to the extent they would not work at all. Well thats that and thats while you guys had a holiday without me. It cost me 250 euro to get it fixed and I paid the guy just after he woke me up with smelling salts.
I have lost a lot of stuff from the computer and all the settings are weird which is great when you concider I had fun doing the simple things on it before the crash.
I think a day out or weekend playing with the cruisers off road would be a great idea and I would definatly be interested in going along once you guys agree not to bate me up for asking all the questions. So Gareth count me in all the way and if I can go ill go depending on when and cost etc
I managed to clean out the rad by removing the bottom hose, it took 8 litres to refill it. The stuff that came out of the rad was really a dark gray bordering on black in colour, which really surprised me a lot. So I reakon ill do it again soon and really flush out alll the crap from the cooling system.
Why would it be that colour????????
I then in my wisdom decided to buy a set of locking wheel nuts and I was thrilled with them up untill the last wheel and the wrench slipped. I then found myself in a position of having a locked wheel nut that i could not get on or off even with the special tool. Great I thought now what the f--- do I do. So off to the welder guy and he spent nearly an hour drilling out the nut and the stud. Now I need a wheel stud and have thrown out all the other locking wheel nuts. Another one just barely made it off the wheel so guys do not use locking wheel nuts for ant reason they are crap.
I went to a Landrover day out some thing like a little Billing. It was Ok and they had an off road couse, fairly small in duration but still good crack. There was a drop of three feet into water and then a climb out and a couple of steep hills.
Well I found out a tow bar is like a plough and takes a lot of punishment.
I nearly didn't make it up a really steep muddy hill which needed several attemps. The Landrover guys were really nice and told me several times that thay would tow me out if I got stuck. This was with a big smile and a little laughing.
There was no way this was happening and I had the wife prepared to push just in case,
It was really good crack but I did suffer a bit. I lost the front reg plate ripped off at the drop into the water I think, smashed my rear reverse light which was obveiously too low and bent the tow bar electric socket. I also lost the bushings off one of the bars belonging to the antiroll bar.
So really a case of live and learn.
My diff locks did not wiork, only flashing on the dash so what do i have to do to get them working. ????????
I tried Toyota but they want 850 euro for each diff for the actuator, just for the bits not the whole axle.
I know this was talked about before so again I need your help.
Ill also have to invest in mud tyres and a snorkel if I want to do more off road i think, especially if you guys get together later on for a bit of fun.
