But why build all that into something that's so closed in it beats bruises on your arms, rains inside as well as out and probably has a useless heater and wipers. And it still retains the LR axles!

At least most of the leaky bits have been replaced I suppose. Would have been far better doing what @Ben has done with a 70.

It needs Toyota axles in it as well, even with Ashcroft stuff in the axles they won't take serious abuse, if you put stronger shafts in all it means is the next weakest link gets destroyed usually the crown wheel and pinion, ask me how I know.
