Indespension axle - can i cut it in half ?

Hi all i got a braked trailer with indespension axle and i need to make the axle wider so i can fit bigger wheels and level things up with my truck . It's pouring rain now so i can't get under it but a quick glance yesterday and the axle appears to be one piece . Would i be right in thinking indespension units are about a foot long and completely separate from each other so the axle tube can be cut in the middle without fear of damaging suspension ?

Yep they just fit into the ends of the tube buddy so either cut and extend or better still get a wider piece of tube.

Sound cheers Mick better safe than sorry ...... now to work out what 4 stud wheels will fit
