injector pump

Hi Julian
I don't have a parts catalogue and tried for an hour to find the different
injector pumps on Google but failed.
Any idea what pump to look for.
When does the 24v engine start
cheers

Dear John,
I replaced the fuel pump on my hdj80 manual with 1HD-FT (24v turbo)
engine. The fuel pump code which i ordered from All American Imports
was: 22100-17890.
The original pump has different code but as the guys from All American
Imports told me the partnumber on the fuelpump has been changed by Toyota.
Hope it helps,
Tomaz

Hi John,
The part number for your IP is 22100-17170. Your truck was made in Jan
'92 and should accept any IP fitted to a 1/90-8/92 truck without any
problems.
Cheers,
Julian

Hi Julian
Hope you are well! You helped me a great deal when I was having
problems with the IP on my 100 series... I met the guys at RVS who
were also very helpful. In this instance my pump being a fly by wire type was not something they could rebuild, but they did recommend TT
Automotive in Loughborough - 01509 633315.
I had a good experience with them (Less than =A3400 and a next day turn around - for a full test and replacement timing control valve). Well worth using for the injection pumps from later model trucks.
Best regards
Nathan
p.s. I've mailed you directly too as I don't think I've ever replied
to the Elco mailing list (not sure if I have it right)

This is an older post I pulled up on a search about two months ago while trying to figure out why my new replacement injector pump was smoking (black) like a chimney. I adjusted the load volume screw about 1/5 of a turn and the smoke went from billowing black to a light white when accelerating from a stop and completely disappearing when cruising.
Thank you Julian for that great, and effective, advice! I joined Land Cruiser Club immediately after reading this post and the subsequent fix and look forward to sharing trials, tribulations as well as how much fun it is to drive this 'Cruiser.
I have an 1990 HZJ80 (non turbo) five speed bought on EBay last summer. It came from Nicaragua originally. Living in CA makes this an incredibly rare ride in these parts. I have found a shop that can work on it, but most just scratch their head when asked about problems that come up.
I do have another question. I am only getting about 16 mpq on average (mostly in town driving, not highway). Is this typical for this 80 series non turbo?

That maybe one for @clivehorridge as he has an HZJ80.

Welcome BTW and good avatar! Pop on over and introduce yourself in the aptly titled ‘Introduce yourself’ section and post up a few more pics while you’re at it. :)

Thanks, SC! I will download a few photos of my rig and post shortly.
