Chris, whose intercooler kit have you used on the 80 ?
BTW - I had a peek at the link on the bottom of your signature. Lots of interesting things for sale - I love the GATOR - we have one at home - fantastic little vehicle + electric tipping !

Hi Gareth;
The intercooler was installed by a Dutch dealer in TJM parts.
Didn't receive any invoices with the truck, so I'm not very sure which make
it is.
But it's been nicely done, with big heat proof air hoses and nicely fixed in
front of the Radiator.
Some stainless mesh applied at the back of the front grill to prevent rock
penetration.

The diesel injectionpump hasn't been given any tune-up to add more fuel to
the mix.
So the truck is running cheaply.
We just love our John Deeres over here. Well made and long lasting.
I'm actually a garden machinery and small engine dealer.
Regards

Thanks, I had a feeling it would be one of Maarten's kits.
Have you turned up the boost and / or fitted a big bore exhaust ?

I personally haven't tinkered with boost or diesel injection.
There's a Fatuba standard exhaust under the truck.
So I think the intercooler only gives a better fuel consumption on highway
driving.
The truck now uses about 12 liters diesel/100 km with my average driving
style.
Which is fairly lean for a 4.2 TDI and fairly heavy truck.
My old lj70 2.4 turdo diesel used about 12 to 13 lit/100 km.
