hi all I am looking for a 120 lc5, looked at 1 today and the car is really clean, 2003 first batch but low mileage. However, when crawled underneath I noticed some oil stain around the oil pan bit plus some at the bell housing. Is this the dreaded rear main seal? I have taken some photos please can anyone shed any light?

Zoomed out view of the photo above.

Are these suggesting to real main seal? Or oil pan gasket?

Second photo shows some oil above the oil pan area, what is this part called?

Thanks all.

Hard to tell from the photos but could this be oil that has spilled down when the oil filter has been changed and has tracked down and back?

Thanks, I did suspect that. If if it rear main seal I expected the bottom of the bell house to be more oily. the fresher oil seems to be around the bottom of the oil filter too.

The lower oil pan gasket seems knackered though.

I test drive the car and it felt tight. Any obvious symptoms for Automatic Land Cruiser with rear main seal leak?? I know for manual it will probably be slipping clutch plate...
