Jerry Can dimensions please

Hi,
Does anyone here have a standard NATO style jerry can that they would
be willing to measure up for me.
I'm trying to plan fuel and water storage for a trip to Morocco and am
toying with making up a hinged frame to go where the spare wheel goes
under the boot to carry a series of Jerry cans lying on their (narrow)
side for water and fuel.
If they don't hang too low I can utilise the spare wheel winch to hold
them in place otherwise I'll remove that (giving more 'height') and
improvise something else to hold the frame in place.

Hi Julian,
They measure 463mm x 164mm x 345mm. I presume NATO is the same as the
British ones? See you on Salisbury Plain on the 25th.
