We've had HiLux for years, then when the chassis broke in half, wanted to upgrade to a Landcruiser. Its an LC4 D-4D A. Very pleased apart from the judder when braking which we didnt notice when test driving it. My name is Merlys

Hi and welcome. Theres a pretty significant cross over between the Hilux and Cruiser fraternities, and lots of helpful advice available.

Easy things first - has it been standing for a while? Maybe if just needs a bit of hard braking to get any surface rust off the discs?

Hi Merlys,
Got a LC4 myself which has been bloody brilliant for the last nearly 4 years.
Re the juddering, this can be caused by 1) there being a high spot on a disc caused by the vehicle being stood a while and the disc rusting everywhere but between the pad and disc leaving a high spot. 2) A disc being warped. 3) ABS kicking in when it it shouldn't ( ABS fault) 4) Pads glazed and not gripping the disc as it should.

Anyways it needs a decent mechanic round it to drive it and eliminate any of the above and pinpoint the problem.
