kdj 95 automatic transmission..

I have met a fella who has a kdj95 2002 year and He was asking me if the kzj95 auto trans would fit electronically?

Mechanically the trans fits straight on and props line up etc.

Do the looms and ecu align between earlier and later types of the auto 95 series or would you need to buy the correct box to go with the 1kzte or 1kd?

Any info would be helpfull cheers!

Didn't the KD use a 5 speed tranny and the KZ a 4 speed? If so then the number of solenoids at least would be different and the wiring probably wouldn't match up. These things can be different in different markets though.

I thought all variations of the 90 series variations sold in the UK (3.4 Petrol, 3.0TD and 3.0d4d) had the same A343* 3 speed + overdrive autobox?

I don't think the 90 series was available with a 5 speed auto. First 5 speeders were in 120 series and post-facelift 100 series AFAIK.

* I believe the A343 box was fitted to both the 80 series and pre- facelift 100 series too???

KZJ automatic transmission has a mechanical kick down function, and the KDJ has a ECU controlled kick down function, so will not be a good fit according to Land Cruiser specialist here in Norway.

Great info there P N! Knowing the advance in ecu tec from a 1kzt (e) to the complex 1kd then really good to know this to instruct the fella I met a couple of days ago.
