Large Bore Exhausts - are you interested?

Hi,
I have been looking in to large bore exhausts and talking to a few
suppliers.
At the end of the day noone a the moment has any available off the
shelf in the UK, so the only option is to get something made up.
I have spoken to a few suppliers who can do one offs as well as batches
- doing a batch does bring the price down a bit, although not by that
much.
Another thing that doesn't help that much is that the price of
stainless steel has rocketed by something like 140% which doesn't help
that much.
Anyway, I have located one or two possible suppliers interested in
doing a batch run of a dozen or so exhausts.
Costs vary considerably from ?450-500 through to ?700 + VAT for a 2.5"
stainless steel system - I'm struggling to find someone that is able to
produce a 3" system and also as mentioned before you would ideally need
a 3" output flange on the turbo.
So, the crunch question, is there anyone here that would be interested
in buying a 2.5" stainless steel exhaust for around the ?600 mark.
The benefits of such a system are it should (in theory) last the life
of the vehicle and the larger bore and different exhaust box
coonfiguration will reduce the back pressure on the turbo enabling it
to spin up quicker at lower revs providing a bit more low end grunt.
Also, if you are thinking at some point of fitting an intercooler, the
system will be a bit strangled without a decent exhaust on.
So, if interested, please reply to this message so that I can see a
show of hands and also please let me know if it is something you are
wanting to get now, or if it is one of those things on your wishlist
for coming months.

Given that my exhaust is the original mild steel and, after 11 years &
140k miles it still seems fine (fingers & legs crossed) is there any
point in going to stainless steel?
My experience of mild steel diesel exhausts over 20 years & 4 vehicles
is that their life is at least 3x better than on petrol engines, and
given the likely life-span of our various machines I would question
whether it was worth going to stainless.
Not only is mild steel cheaper, although it too has risen in price, but
it is much easier to bend and weld so it should be a *lot* cheaper - and
3" may well be available too.
Just a thought.
