Well I went to look at the lc...
Firstly he put the price up a grand cos he said he had to send the wheels
off to be cleaned (alloys) and it cost him 300 quid and he wants to make a
profit so now its 6k not 5k :(
Not amused
Secondly (and this is the best bit) he looked at mine
Said he didn't want it but if forced would give me a grand for my disco
Suffice to say that was the last I said before driving off in a mood.
On the condition side of things.. I saw no difflock buttons on the dash or
on the stick (should I have seen them?)
The seats had the same stuff as you found in ghia's years ago.. Is that
suede or something?
Well the front seats were well worn as were the door trims
It had this button on the dash with sport on it with a picture of a shock
absorber on it (it was a rocker one but the other bit of the button had worn
so I couldn't read it
A lot of buttons in jap, and there was no manual in the glove box.
It was a 5 seater not 8.
hrmph

Hey Dyfed
Sorry about your luck but things happen for a reason, you are probibly
better off , may not seem that way now but there was a reason you dident
take his generous deal . A whole grand for your disco what year is it, had
it got four wheels and did it actually drive. He put it up by a grand for
cleaning the wheels, thats a dear pack of Brillo pads and a bit of time. Did
you get as far as asking him about the owner, or anything else. Keep looking
and do not give up or get disheartened by this. First impressions can be
wrong but you have to say to yourself, what where your first impressions and
do your think you were right. It took me two years to find mine and even
then I had a lot of problems, so take your time ,go see a few and then you
will have a better idea what what.

Hi john
Well considering he didn't even know if there was an owner's manual in the
glove box it put me off somewhat.
Also the fact that he spent no time trying to sell it, or willing to down
the price from 6k to 5k
Even though this is the price advertised on the autotrader website (sale of
goods???)
The exterior looked nice but I think he does this to cover something
But I think you are right though, it didn't happen for a reason, there are
others about
Saw a 4runner too? What are they like?

Hi dyfed
The whole thing about parting with your hard earned cash is to let your
brain do all the thinking and not your heart, whick can mislead you.
The easiest thing in the car bussiness is to have it valeted so it looks all
nice and clean and that can fool the common sense and give you a false sense
of good. I have'nt any info on the four runners, sorry.

Should be just to the right of the steering column - sometimes slightly

Something like that, not sure what it is though.
The drivers seat gets scuffed on the outside from sliding in and out a lot.
Seems to increase the damping and cut out a bit of roll. Ride is quite
rough on mine anyway over small or fast bumps I think because it's a
live axle on the older ones. Some say that's better off road but it is
harsher ride on the road.
Well you wouldn't be able to read the manual anyway. Most of my buttons
are symbols.
Sounds a bit of a dodgy dealer anyway. I think I'd walk from what you said.
Ian.

Hi Dyfed
I haven't got one of those digital cameras yet Im. sure that some has,
anyway in the middle is the radio on top is the clock, to the right a little
is the rear heater switch, to the right of that is the center diff switch.
The rear heater and the center diff are the same size button (switch) kind
of square in shape and nearly flat. If you look to the right a little and
down, to the left of the steering is the round turn switch with a protruding
slim center to activate the lockers. Hope this helps and if and when you are
the proud owner of the cruiser be careful when cleaning the dash or when the
kids are in it, because it is so easy to engage the the center diff with out
even knowing it, unless you look at the dash where the clocks are before you
start.
