There is certainly a difference when it comes to fitting Double Din units that have a CD player for example, they are pretty much physically the same size as the OE stereo, and the OE brackets can be used. On the other hand fitting a Double Din size 'head' unit is a whole new ball game.

If it's of any help, apart from the front overhead light all of my internal and external bulbs are LED's, I had a resistor fitted to the indicator circuit, I also replaced the indicator relay with a canbus friendly one. The only thing that stops working is the indicator clicker, as long as the self cancel works it no issue. All canbus bulbs where applicable.

I got all of my bulbs and the indicator relay from Auto Bulbs Direct, their Twenty20 branded canbus bulbs were reasonably priced (a lot cheaper than phillips for example) and give good illumination with a good dip cut off profile. Everything works fine with no strange issues at all. My truck is a 96 4.5.
