Left or Right? Why?

Just an idle thought.
Most (all?) the builds I`ve seen of overland builds, mostly Troopies seem to have seating on the left and larger cabinets on the right.
Is there a reason for this, or just coincidence, or ???

My Troopy was sit on the righthand side, and when I had it rebuilt we now sit on the left, and for no real reason tbh

I can`t think of any reason why one side would be better than another.

Not trying to start a "Big-Endian" vs "Little -Endian" war, honest. :)

Where's the fuel tank on a Troopy? Does that have any bearing?

Overthinking it - if you are planning on a west to east trip in the northern hemisphere, sitting on the left would mean you would have the sun 'behind' you. Sadly, I go through this thought process if I catch a ferry / train / plane.

About to build mine… seating on left. (Probably)

I think the reason is the configuration of the doors. The left door opens first and access is easier via the lower seating, which often is nailed at the rear to allow access without opening both doors.

The other reason I can see is that most camper builds are from countries that drive on the left. So if sleeping in a lay-by on the seating area you are kerbside not traffic side.
