Hi all looking for a multi media head unit to replace the abortion it came with. Any recommendations for apple car play units? Also how compatible are they to wiring?

You also need the double din surround to improve the look. only on import trucks. there's single ones with a cubby slot also on the uk ones

You should just need the Toyota wiring harness (£11??) from Halfords to get plug and play. I just put a Kenwood double din in a HJ61 and it worked great

As Iwan said, you might want to replace that bit of metal for the proper surround with a double din opening. It is still available.
