Lockdown cruiser

Love this project, will look unreal when done, better than factory!

Thank you Felix, very frustrating not been able to devote the time lately but I have managed to put my hands on the 1KZ-TE doner engine and made up my mind to cover the entire truck with tintable Raptor liner which should be interesting!

I’m going to start a new thread under 70 series detailing the engine swap if anyone is interested in adding content particularly detail or photos , it’s my intention to add as much measurements and images as possible to this thread over the next couple of months.

Married again for now, it will come down a bit more with driveline fitted.
Doubts are creeping in again over the colour , part of me wants to keep in the original paint with just a clear coat, I was going with a non metallic slate grey but keeping it original will save time and money.

Del looking very nice you have done the hard work on the chassis the slate grey would look mean and purposeful and new whereas if you clear coat it it would look more Been Everywhere Done Everything drive it enjoy it and see what sort of comments you get also a chance of changing your mind on the colour still reckon Hot Rod Red is the way to go if you want to repaint it let us know what you do and how you getting along with the handbrake conversion have you made any progress or decisions on the best way to go Chris has some laser cut stainless steel dog bones for 80s and 100s if they fit the 70s they would improve the handbrake bite and feel

I think it would look great either kept as is or done in the grey. But as said above, maybe drive it as is and then after a year see how you feel if you still want to repaint it.

Just a quick update , lost the use of the workshop so for the moment or until the weather breaks it’s the front garden, pro’s and Con’s having it at home but getting loads done .
as you can see I went with a full paint job which look great, a small amount to complete the interior and it’s on to the engine bay.
engine and gearbox when I find a new home!
