Morocco Green Card

Hi all,
Anyone got recent experience on getting a green card for Morocco? I
thought I'd get one with my recently renewed insurance, but now it
seems there is a problem. Anyone know how to get one from another
source, or at the boarder?
Cheers,
Andy.

Most countries, especially where you are going, will sell you insurance at
the border, in some it is mandatory as they don't recognise green cards.

Hi all,
Thanks for the replies. After some investigation I determined the following:
Buying a green card at the border is no problem in Tanger, but I've
got a ferry to Ceuta booked and apparently it's not so easy there on a
Saturday?
After calling every insurance company in the UK, the only one that
seems prepared to offer a green card for morocco is NFU. However the
NFU won't insure me, I tried various offices who all give different
reasons, I think they don't like my EU driving license, or I got in
the database as a reject due to an idiot in the Macclesfield office
when I first called.
So.... a very difficult decision.
Should I give my Landcruiser to my girlfriend so she can insure it?
But then I can never leave her :-(

And Ceuta is part of spain, so your british insurance will cover you, green
card or not.

I think the point is... Can you buy Moroccan insurance on the Moroccan side
of Ceuta, on a Saturday?
The answer is probably yes, as Saturday is a working day in Morocco - Friday
is their weekend.
I think you've misunderstood Clive...
You could try searching here for the latest info
www.horizonsunlimited.com/hubb/sahara-travel-forum/
Or do a search...

Yep, first morning ferry to Ceuta, then heading south into Morocco.
OK, might be a problem because we arrive early,
Thanks Jeremy, I didn't think to look here yet - probably the best
source of info
I did a bit of googling but didn't find anything concrete enough to
take the risk of just turning up.
I shall report back when I know more.....
Cheers,

You should be fine, if I recall we went through Ceuta early and everything
was up and running, although I didn't buy insurance as I had cover in place
from the UK. Things seem to have changed...
There's probably something on the HUBB already - if not you'll get answers
to a post.
Have a good trip

Andy,
Probably your best bet for details on Morocco is to look here - http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3D89396.
On the NFU front do you want to try my (old) local office in Cirencester - they are very helpful and you should be able to have a civilised conversation with them as to why you have had problems with other offices.

Hi Julian and all,
I just tried NFU, but they wouldn't take me on as I live in London and they told
me they only cover rural areas, but I got cover for Morocco with More Than.
