It was a BJ that I converted into an FJ
Did a complete body off restoration
That looks very tidy, wish I had the patience for a project like that.
Looks really well, Keith.
Have you any photos of the rebuild as there is always information, tips to be gained from them.
For instance how you mount the hi-lift jach to the door pillar....
As I get time I will cut n paste my rebuild thread onto this forum
To mount the hi-lift jack requires 3 bolts (used as locating studs) in the floor board
And one 14mm hole drilled into the side of the body , on my next 40 I will not use this method, I will use a made up bracket that will screw onto the wndscreen hinge bolt holes
I've a link to that, and, subject to your and the LCCSA permission being granted, am happy to copy it across for you Keith?
No problem ~ go for it
BTW - thought you'd like to know - a bunch of us ar off to Byo-Zim next weekend on the bikes
Taking all the old DIRT back roads in via Antelope Mine, Kezi, Matopos etc etc
Keith, when you get to Kezi, please say a mental 'hello, yebo, kunjane' for me. Spent a lot of time there as a kid on a ranch, and had some very very close ranching friends killed there back in the late 70s. I learnt to drive there as a kid of 9 in an old Series LR (run, duck, hide... ). Still miss them, and those good old bad days ...
Are you going via Plumtree? My old school - what a blast ...
I'll copy across and sort the Kermit thread for you.
Hey Gary when were you in Plumtree?
Have a few mates who were there too
oh, umm - that would be telling
1972 - 1977 (Milner House)
You would have crossed paths with them for sure...... I'll pm you some names...
Separate names with a comma.
