It will be written on your tyre something like 165/70R16 the R16 is wheel size

5 tyre are already on the wheels. on my 17 inch wheels. they are fine, why would i have to read any numbers off from those tyres?

what i think the first owners in japan searched for 17 inch toyota wheels, fit them then car was imported to UK (2004) since nobody have noticed

The norm for sizing from 16 to 17 inch is 5% on the profile.
For example the FJ Cruiser comes on either 17” or 16” from factory. Tyre size is 265/70 R17 or 265/75 R16. Thus the rolling diameter and width are the same on either wheel size

Using a tape measure from top to bottom wheels will generally be an inch bigger than their actual size because something has to keep the tyre on .

90 series only came with 16 inch wheels and yours are original .

A 16" tyre will not fit a 17" wheel .
